Are you concerned about what’s happening in our world?
Would you like to explore your ability to respond?

At this five day retreat we will use The Work That Reconnects, a form of transformative group work developed by Joanna Macy, to give us energy and focus to respond to the current challenges faced by our planet.
The Work That Reconnects consists of practical exercises and meditations designed to grow feelings of gratitude and connection, and look at how we can allow and transform feelings of despair and helplessness about the current state of the world. We come to ‘seeing with new eyes’ by changing our perspectives, and explore taking action towards a sustainable future.

The workshop is a powerful way to connect more deeply with others who share our concerns, under the supportive guidance of experienced facilitators. There will be time to roam the island alone or with others, and will include opportunities to practice mindfully being through guided meditation, ChiKung and Yoga. Gareth Williams – a musical activist – will be on our retreat, and there may be opportunities to explore collaborative Folksongs of the Future (no prior musical skills required!). The natural and nourishing beauty of Holy Island will help to inspire and strengthen our ability to keep moving forward with active hope and positive resolve.
